Les Maada funeral details

Renowned kwaito pioneer DJ Oskido has shared the funeral details of musician Lesley 'Les Maada' More, who recently passed away.

Recognised as a member of kwaito band Alaska, Les Maada passed away at his mother’s house in Vosloorus last Friday, 15 November.

According to EyeWitness News, the 41-year-old artist was ill, but it’s unclear exactly what was wrong with him.

Les Maada’s death is particularly tragic in light of the fact that his band very recently released their first album in four years, called ‘Alaska: The Revival’.

Comprised of lead singer Siphiwe ‘Picat’ Sibeko, Thabo ‘Crazy’ Tsotetsi, and the now late Les Maada, Alaska had their heyday in the 90s with hits such ‘Madzadzadza’, ‘Dlala Kayona’, and ‘Efa Motho’.

Oskido on Thurday tweeted: “Les Maada’s funeral saturday @ Voslorus 10am his Memorial service @ Mapedi Hall 1pm Thursday Z3 next 2 Meadowpoint”

DJ Oskido is the co-founder of Alaska’s record label, Kalawa Jazzmee.
