Popular Model and SuperSport presenter Lerato Moloi became a victim of crime and had her life threatened when she and a friend had a gun and an axe pointed at them last week Wednesday at Moloi’s house in Strubens Valley, northwest of Johannesburg.
According to the Sunday Times, the pair were enjoying a quiet night in when four intruders entered Moloi’s home and robbed them at gunpoint. Police spokesperson Mack Mngomezulu confirmed the incident with the paper, saying it happened on Wednesday night (23 March) at around 8 o’clock.
“Four men entered the home. One of them was armed with a gun and another one had an axe on him. They broke into the house and robbed the victims of their belongings, including two cars which were parked outside,” Mngomezulu told the paper, adding that “both cars, a Nissan bakkie and a Mercedes Benz, were later found abandoned in Soweto on the same night.” Mngomezulu says “one was found in Zola near a supermarket and the other was found at a different location, also in Soweto.”
The model and Generations: The Legacy actress, who was introduced to mainstream media as the first black face of international cosmetics brand Elizabeth Arden, opened a case of armed robbery after the incident.
