LaConco opens up about her failed relationship – ‘Lupita Nyong’o sharing her pain triggered me’

TV star, Nonkanyiso ‘LaConco’ Chonco, opened up about her failed relationship after news of Lupita Nyong’o and Selema Masekela’s breakup.

Taking to her Instagram stories, LaConco tagged Lupita, saying her story had triggered her.

“@lupitanyongo sharing her pain just triggered me how I’ve been silent about my ex and the pain he has caused us and still is,” she said, adding that she kept quiet about her pain because:

“I know that giving God my pain is giving him his power over my life. I’ve damn protected his dignity.” She went on to add “Psalms 46 vs 5-10”.

LaConco did not name the ex. However, during the second season of The Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD), LaConco opened up about her potential new lover, identified only as “Petal”.

The TV star was also previously in a relationship with former president Jacob Zuma, a relationship which she also spoke about on RHOD.

Lupita and Selema’s break up

A few days ago, internationally renowned actress, Nyong’o, spoke about her break up with Selema – the late Hugh Masekela’s son.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Lupita spoke about heartbreak and disappointment.

“I find myself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception. I am tempted to run into the shadows and hide, only to return to the light when I have regained my strength enough for me to say, ‘Whatever, my life is better this way.’”

“But I am reminded that the magnitude of the pain I am feeling is equal to the measure of my capacity for love. And so, I am choosing to face the pain, cultivating the courage to meet my life exactly as it is, and trusting that this too shall pass,” she wrote.

The actress said she decided to share her story to help those who may be going through the same.
