Khaya Mthethwa set to record first live DVD

Born Khayelihle Mthethwa, the multi-award-winning singer, instrumentalist, writer, composer and all round musician will record the one-night only spectacular show The Uprising.

He has shaken the Gospel, Afro-soul and R&B world with his commanding voice and has now set his eyes on a new prize. The live DVD recording show is inspired by his second album, which he released in 2014 after the success of his debut album, For You.

The hitmaker of Ushilo Wena and Settle For Less became the apple of Mzansi’s eye when he was crowned the first black winner of the renowned reality music show Idols South Africa in 2008.

“The Uprising live DVD has always been a dream of mine to see manifest. The show promises to be an electrifying praise and worship session that will aspire to bring the audience closer to The Almighty,” says Mthethwa.

“Music is one of the most powerful tools that can move mountains and stop wars. I’m intending to share my gift and challenge our generation about the true Uprising of our Souls.” Mthethwa, who has built a name for himself through being one of the shining stars of multi-award-winning gospel group Joyous Celebration, has shaped his skills and grown both musically and spiritually.

Not only does he connect with the heavens through song, but he is also a leader and Pastor at Oasis Church in Durban.
