Kenny Kunene sued by a former employee

Gloria Raadt used to work as a cleaner at the Kimberley franchise of Kunene and business partner Gayton McKenzie’s string of botched ZAR Lounge nightclubs, and she is determined to get the R1 920 they owe her for 16 days of work.

Speaking to the Sunday Sun, Raadt said that payment of her monthly salary was always inconveniently erratic and that many other employees are also owed money.

“They’d pay me around the middle of the following month and not the full salary,” claims Raadt.

The other employees haven’t made the drastic choice to take legal action though, but Raadt refuses to be a pushover and is determined to recover what is owed to her.

“I went there because I want my money. I can’t work for free,” she said.

Kunene was, however, dismissive of Raadt’s claims when approached for comment.

“Don’t talk to me about what people say. Call me about the things I have done,” he said.

He also rubbished the rumours that he and Gayton are starting a political party, this after he recently quit Julius Malema’s new Economic Freedom Fighters party.

“There’s nothing like that,” said the sushi-loving socialite.

“I don’t know where they get that story from.”
