Kaya FM wishes Dineo Ranaka healing after radio jock admits to being suicidal

Media personality Dineo Ranaka startled her 1.2 million followers on Instagram this morning when she posted that she completely understands people who commit suicide.

“I get it. I get them,” shared the co-host of 959 Breakfast on the social platfrom. “Because I’m trying my best not to commit suicide. My mind is so loud of late and life is f***ing hard, so f***ing hard and I’m trying my best but it seems my best isn’t enough,” wrote Ranaka.

Kaya 959 wishes breakfast show host Dineo Ranaka much strength as she finds a way through a difficult time,” the station’s statement starts off.

“Dineo hasn’t been on air this morning after openly sharing her struggles on social media,” reads the statement from the managing director of the station Colleen Louw.

“The Kaya 959 family is keeping Dineo in their hearts, and we wish her healing. We also ask for privacy as Dineo gets through this difficult time.”

Ranaka receives overwhelming support

A number of people were quick to wish Ranaka well following her posts. These include family and prominent celebrities who encouraged Ranaka with heartfelt messages below her posts.

Ranaka’s sister and actor, Manaka, said: “Strength is you and you are strength. I’m committed to showing you what that means if you can’t see it or feel it”. That comment alone attracted over 700 likes.

“There’s no permanent problem my queen stay strong, everything will pass. Sending love to you,” commented Makhadzi.

“You are important. Reach out to us. We have your back. Sending so much light,” were words of fellow broadcaster Pabi Moloi’s.

Mafikizolo’s Nhlanhla Mafu also wished Ranaka well saying: “We love you nana, it might seem hard right now but it shall pass. Please keep fighting”.

Actress Omuhle Gela said “Everything is seasonal mama, [whatever] you’re going through you will get through. For your children’s sake. In Jesus’s name”.

Ranaka hasn’t posted anything since sharing her state of mind in the morning.
