Kanye West builds his dream home
Kanye has adopted a hands-on approach to the construction of his new family home in Hidden Hills.
Kanye West and his reality TV star wife Kim Kardashian West – who have 23-month-old son Saint and daughter North, four, together – recently sold their home in Bel-Air for as much as $17.8 million.
But the duo are waiting for their new home in the Californian city to be completed with the grounds of their estate said to still be unsafe for their children.
As a result, the ‘Famous’ rapper has taken it upon himself to oversee the ambitious construction project, which has been years in the planning. And according to TMZ, Kanye and his family are now hopeful they will soon be able to move into the property.
Kanye, 40, and Kim both suffered a torrid year in 2016, with the rap star having to cancel part of his Life of Pablo tour after he was committed to a hospital with hallucinations and paranoia.
Kim, on the other hand, was robbed at gunpoint in Paris by five thieves who were dressed as police officers. And so when the high-profile couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary in May this year, they decided to take a low-key holiday in Japan.
The brunette beauty previously explained: “I surprised him with a trip to Japan, a place that he loves to go to get away and get inspiration. It was great for me because I’ve never been and we had always talked about how we really wanted to go together.”
Kim, 37, also claimed that the incident in Paris led her to reassess her own priorities in life. She said: “I think in life, things happen to you for a reason and you really do have to pay attention, and I got the message.
“I just learned so much and something had to change, just of how I live my life. The things that were important to me before and the things I liked to show off before are definitely not the things I like to show off now.”
