Seasoned actor Kagiso Modupe surprised his wife, Liza Lopes, with a brand-new Mercedes Benz this past weekend in celebration of Mother’s Day.
Kagiso is popularly known for his role on e.tv’s Scandal!. He has also appeared in many other shows and films, including Gog’ Helen, Step Up to a Start, Unpredictable Romance and Losing Lerato, which he fully funded with his wife.
Giving fans a look inside the beautiful surprise, he posted a video and pictures on Instagram, followed by a sweet caption. Modupe said he is grateful for everything that she has done for him.
“Happy Mother’s Day my Love. You hold such a special place in my heart, not only as my wife and the mother of my children but also as my smile keeper.
“When my late parents named you Mmarona they knew that you would be the Mother of the Bakwena clan. You have blessed me with the most amazing treasures in my life, our children Tshimollo & Motheo, and mostly your heart. Always, all the way, no matter what,” he wrote.

Last year, Daily Sun reported that Nedbank auctioned the actor’s Chevrolet Captiva after he failed to settle his outstanding bank loan of R134k.
According to the paper, Kagiso bought the car for R716 868 back in 2015, and the bank auctioned it for R80k to cover his debt. Commenting on Kagiso’s car, vehicle finance expert, Vongani Mashile, told the publication that:
“After surrendering the car, the bank auctions it and the money raised from selling the car will be paid towards the outstanding amount of the debt. If the money from the auction is not enough to settle the debt, the remaining amount called the shortfall, is the responsibility of the customer to pay off.”
The actor made the headlines again after he shared an emotional video on Instagram of his family bidding farewell to their long-time helper.
In a lengthy caption, Kagiso shared that the lady was a prayer warrior sent to them by God and their ancestors.
He added: “Thank you for all the years you have blessed us with your light as part of our family and friends. We love you Ndo, and we pray that God’s Grace shines upon you as you enjoy your retirement years with your family. We will definitely miss you so much”.
