‘This doesn’t make sense’– Jub Jub’s heartful tribute to Mampintsha

Uyajola 9/9's Jub Jub shared touching videos of his time with Mampintsha and his wife Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane.

Media personality Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Marrhoyane paid tribute to his close friend, the late Mandela ‘Mampintsha’ Maphumalo.

Mampintsha passed away on Christmas Eve, 24 December, after he suffered a minor stroke a week before.

The Uyajola 9/9 presenter shared touching videos of his time with Mampintsha and his wife Bongekile ‘Babes Wodumo’ Simelane.

‘I miss you so much’

Jub Jub made a compilation video of him visiting Mampintsha and Babes Wodumo in KwaZulu-Natal.

In the video, the musician and Mampintsha are seen in high spirits, sharing jokes and Jub Jub poking fun at Babes Wodumo’s make-up.

Jub Jub captioned his video: “I’ll miss you so f#*$n much bro, such a free-spirited soul, was always happy and positive and wanted everyone to WIN”.

“Ride on soldier and Rest in Power. Bash stay strong my sister we have no answers but we trust his decisions that will make you stronger. This still doesn’t make sense”, he concluded.

He also shared videos of Mampintsha’s time in the recording studio and said he will “miss him forever”.

Tributes continue

Another close friend and fellow musician and entertainer, DJ Tira is also struggling to come to terms with the loss.

DJ Tira has since honoured his performances to Mampintsha and videos that showed ‘Shimora’ which he was affectionately known for having a good time.

“You bounced like a KING. On top of the game. Shimora baba ka Sponj RIP my brother”.

When Mampintsha passed away, DJ Tira said: “This is the saddest day. We were so close and so happy recently, excited about the Big Nuz come back. Why now?”

Afrotainment and his family said details of the memorial and funeral arrangements will be shared in due course.

The family asked for public and media privacy during this difficult time.

L’vovo update

Another musician who was close to Mampintsha, L’vovo Derrango, suffered a minor stroke during a performance in KZN.

His record label cleared the air on Sunday, denying rumours he had passed away.

“This notification serves to dispel the trending rumours that he has passed. This is untrue and grossly hurtful to his family. He is still hospitalised and making excellent progress.”
