It’s over! Trevor Gumbi announces separation from wife

Comedian Trevor Gumbi has on Thursday announced his separation from estrange wife Lucille.

In a joint statement, Gumbi said the couple had been separated for “some time”, but delayed announcing their split because they wanted to ensure a smooth transition from living together to learning how to co-parent.

“The announcement was made now, due to the fact that Trevor will shortly announce a new comedy tour, based around his experience during this process. We felt it was time to let everyone know before any assumptions were made.

“We will continue to work together on upcoming projects as well as remain friends. Our family is important to us, and our first priority is to co-parent effectively for our children,” said the couple.

They were together for 17 years and married for 11.
