Is Pearl Modiadie ready to make her return to the dating world? Well, that is a question that fans of the media personality found themselves asking after she joked with a friend on her Twitter timeline.
“Jolani [date] guys, I highly recommend it,” tweeted celebrity make-up artist Nomsa Madida, to which Modiadie responded “As I enter Mjolofontein!”
Mjolofontein is a slang term for a fictional town deriving its name from the word mjolo, which means dating.
This also comes as a happy surprise to fans who were sad to hear of the end of her relationship with the father of her son.
Modiadie was in a relationship with a man named Nathaniel Oppenheimer before the pair welcomed a child together – a baby boy named Olivier Lewatle.
Last holiday season, she posted a series of sombre late-night Instagram stories.
“Alone is so much better than being unhappy,” read one post.
“I wasn’t able to achieve my dream of having the family I’ve always longed for. But out of it came my beautiful son and for that I’m eternally grateful,” read another.
Modiadie had been dating the French businessman for a few years, opting to keep their relationship private after the very public nature of her previous relationship and engagement to Nkululeko Buthelezi.
She was also very secretive about her pregnancy and only announced the arrival of her son in the later half of 2020.
Last month, the pair – who have been co-parenting Lewatle amicabl – hosted a cute “a boho-chic safari experience” for him, who turned one.
The party was attended by celebs such as Lorna Maseko and Denise Zimba.
Modiadie is usually private about her personal life so it came as a surprise for fans to see how much of her son’s birthday party she shared and a picture of his full face. The star usually shares snaps of Lewatle facing backwards.
“Mom and dad love you very much! Happy Birthday baby and thank you for giving us the most fulfilling year of our lives,” her caption read.
