Minnie Dlamini-Jones and her husband Quinton Jones celebrated a big milestone on Sunday – their son Netha’s first birthday.
The couple held the birthday party in Johannesburg, with a theme of fast cars, and it was fitting that the venue was Jaguar Land Rover Experience in Lonehill, Sandton.
Minnie shared pictures of “Netha’s Fast 1” party on Instagram. The colour scheme was blue and white, nicely decorated with miniature race cars everywhere, and a birthday cake to match the theme.
Minnie says her child is “obsessed with cars” and their dream party was planned by Levase Productions.

The Homegrown presenter also thanked her family and friends for attending. Well-known figures such as Anele Mdoda, actress Zola Nombona and Miss South Africa 2007 Tansey Coetzee were in attendance.
The Joneses also hosted a traditional ceremony, Imbeleko, for Netha. The ceremony is traditionally held after the 10th day of the child’s birth or later.
It is an act of detaching and burning the umbilical cord in ancestral grounds, as a way to connect the mother and introduce the child to their ancestors.

Anele congratulated Minnie on her first year of motherhood.
She wrote: “Congrats mommy. You made it through the toughest year as a mom and with your heart a tad bit healed. Nneta [sic] has brought a blizzard of blessings and I absolutely love watching you and Squinzo parent. “
Since her ambassadorship with global sandals brand Ipanema was announced, Minnie has been doing double duty for the brand on her social pages, even teasing that it would be fun to have a baby girl after a photoshoot for Ipanema.
