TV presenter and model Ayanda Thabethe shared more good news after her surprising pregnancy announcement last week, the gender of her first child.
Ayanda confirmed she was expecting her first child with her mystery man in a beautifully crafted video. In the video she is wearing a white dress with flowing trains behind it flying in the wind as she stands atop sand dunes.
She took to Instagram again to delight fans and followers with another video, this time a glimpse at what went down during her gender reveal party at The Houghton Hotel in Johannesburg.
The former Top Billing presenter’s party was attended by close friends and family. Familiar faces included TV chef and media personality Lorna Maseko as well as Ayanda’s sister, beauty content creator Lungile Thabethe.
The theme of the party was “Girl and Boy”, as the colour scheme of the party was divided between pink and blue.
The expecting parents and guests had to pick what gender they think Ayanda’s bundle of joy will be. Guests were given placards to choose from.

For this occasion, Ayanda wore a flowy blue mini dress and what appeared to be her partner, who was strategically cut off in the video, was wearing a blue t-shirt.
Ayanda popped the balloons to reveal she was expecting a baby boy. She captioned her post: “You are a wish come true I never knew I was making.”
The gender reveal party was organised by popular celeb events company, Precious Celebrations.
Business owner Precious Thamaga-Mazibuko said she loved planning Ayanda’s celebration.
“Loved planning [and] designing @ayandathabethe gender reveal celebration. Congratulations once again gorgeous Ayanda and thank you for trusting my team [and] I with your most precious moment,” she wrote on Instagram.
Ayanda thanked friends and family for all their love and well-wishes since she announced her pregnancy.
“Thank you all humbly for the overwhelming love poured on the announcement of my greatest blessing yet,” she said.
