In Pics: Jesse Clegg hangs out with the Springboks after private performance

It’s often said that musos are envious of sport stars, while the latter also find themselves wanting to be as cool as some of the biggest artists.

This could’ve been the case for South African musician Jesse Clegg who was all smiles after performing for the Springboks in a private party in Cape Town on Friday night.

“I played a special private show for the Springboks in Cape Town as part of their homecoming tour. It was so much fun celebrating the victory with them and to experience the joy and spirit of the team,” averred Clegg on his social media.

The son of Mzansi music legend Johnny Clegg took photos with members of the back-to-back Rugby World Cup winning team.

From coach Jacques Nienaber, to scrumhalf Faf De Klerk (in his pants) and a seemingly inebriated Bongi Mbonambi, Jesse got the opportunity most South Africans would die for.

The party was at an undisclosed venue in Cape Town where rapper Jack Parrow was present and so was R&B singer Lloyiso.

The private party took place after the Boks’ trophy tour which saw them parade the Webb Ellis Cup in the streets of Pretoria, Johannesburg, Soweto, Cape Town, Durban and East London in celebration of the team’s historic triumph in France.

Africa Wild Festival

Clegg will this weekend be on the line-up with some of the country’s celebrated band at Africa Wild Festival in Hoedspruit alongside Prime Circle and Just Jinjer.

Drakensig Primary School will offer festival grounds, with a variety of food stalls and an inviting beer garden.
