Cassper Nyovest: I’m broke, I was going to sell one of my cars

Just a month before the Fill Up FNB Stadium concert, the Malome hit maker says he doesn't have the R15 million to make it happen.

It seems Cassper Nyovest ‘s Fill Up FNB Stadium concert is costing him much more than he had anticipated as the struggle to secure sponsors continues. In an interview with Masechaba Ndlovu and MoFlava on Metro FM on Wednesday, Cassper said he was now “broke”.

“I don’t have money,” he declared, adding that he had planned to sell one of his luxury cars to someone, though it didn’t happen as the potential buyer had an emergency to attend to.

“The show does not make money. We don’t make a profit. I’m investing in the industry and the name Cassper Nyovest. In time I will be among the greatest although I didn’t make enough money to show it.

“Sometimes I feel like maybe I should stop investing so much in my craft and buy a Rolls Royce but I think I wouldn’t be as far as I am if I didn’t respect my craft,” he said.

The Mama I Made It hit maker revealed that the show would need R15 million to happen.

In a series of tweets recently, Cassper revealed he had neither money nor sponsor for his concert.

“Right now, I’m writing this tweet with no sponsor, no money for the stage, marketing and the labour, but I am trusting God cause he never fails me.

“Fill Up FNB Stadium is not about hip hop beef or how smart Cassper Nyovest is and all that rubbish. It’s about faith! Faith in a living God,” he said at the time.

Reacting to Cassper’s interview, Sizwe Dhlomo wished Cassper well on the show, urging people to go and support him.

“Shows can bleed you dry. You can have six million in your account the day before you decide to throw a show and then be three down after. That’s one of the riskiest things you can do with your money! Throw a show!” he said.
