I thought about aborting Senzo’s baby – Kelly Khumalo
Though Meyiwa was happy about the pregnancy, the singer says, she was not sure if she wanted to keep the baby.

Singer Kelly Khumalo recently revealed in an interview with Anele Mdoda that she had considered abortion when she found out she was pregnant with Senzo Meyiwa’s child.
She said when she told him about the pregnancy, he was “very happy”, a reaction she had expected from him because he always said he wanted a child with her.
“When we started talking on the phone, the first thing he told me was that he wanted a child with me, and I was like, ‘dude, you don’t even know me, how dare you want that with me. I’m not in a place where I want a child, I’m putting myself together. I just came out of a very bad relationship, I’m not in a position to give anyone a child,'” she told Anele.
Khumalo said Meyiwa already had a name for the child, Sphamandla, because he thought it was going to be a boy. This was when she realised she was not sure if she wanted the child.
“I was like, ‘dude, I’m not even sure if I want to keep this. I wasn’t sure. God, somehow, said, ‘you’re having this one, whether you like it or not, you’re having this one.'”
“I had thoughts that I would maybe terminate and stuff like that because I was in a place where I was not ready, but the thing is, God wanted the child more than I did,” she said.

She told Anele that even though most people only had negative things to say about her relationship with the former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, things were good in his last days, and she knew he loved her.
The couple talked about marriage a lot, Khumalo said, responding to Anele’s question on whether she saw a future with the guy. The Asine hitmaker said her relationship got to a point where one night, while having dinner, Meyiwa went down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. She, however, did not take him seriously, as he did not have a ring, though it did not mean she was not in love with him.
“Senzo was, like, the best among them all because he’s that guy that will phone you every now and then. You will get SMSes every now and then. He will tell you exactly how he feels about you.”
