Never one to shy away from speaking her mind, musician Babes Wodumo has once again made headlines – this time for swearing at her mother-in-law as part of a publicity stunt.
Viewers captured the section of her rant in which she complained about her husband’s mother asking them for R1,500.
“We gave it to her. We gave her, what the sh**! That b***h is drunk,” said Babes Wodumo while speaking in Zulu on Instagram live.
It is no secret that the pair dislike each other intensely as Mampintsha’s mom was captured (on video) speaking ill of her son’s decision to marry Babes.
She also registered her distrust of Babes’ pregnancy shortly after she announced she was pregnant and claimed that the pregnancy was fake.
She said she suspected that Babes Wodumo was wearing a sponge and it is this accusation that led to the nickname that the child has.
In the longer clip of Babes’ rant, she goes on to say that her mother-in-law must not “f**k” with her and accused her of having a drinking problem.

The musician also threatened to retaliate against her with gangsters for lying about Mampintsha not supporting her financially.
She continues to rant about how disrespectful her mother-in-law is before taking aim at her parenting skills, commenting on the fact that she allegedly abandoned Mampintsha when he was just three days old.
As the video progresses, she continues to raise her voice as she gets audibly angrier.
She threatens to beat her once again before the clip ends.
Sunday World reports that she has since apologised to her younger fans for her use of strong language in the video which she says was publicised as a publicity stunt used to draw attention to her latest single.
In a poorly written statement shared to her Instagram, the singer reveals that her EP titled Crown had been delayed and she decided to “give you some taste of part two of the Sponge Wodumo’s story.” A story that she says fans saw unfold shortly before she and Mampintsha’s reality show, Uthando Lodumo, premiered on Showmax.
She claims she “had no choice” other than to do what she did because she did it at the time that she did to protect her younger fans.
