In this week’s royal news, the fallout of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s documentary continues, Prince William and Kate Middleton release their family Christmas photo and the Sussexes keep breaking records.
Despite the controversy it has caused in the United Kingdom, particularly among fierce defenders of the royal family, the Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary broke records for the streaming service.
With some expressing they were going to boycott the series, however, this didn’t seem to dent the statistics.
It has been widely reported that the Harry and Meghan doc, first airing three episodes, is the biggest documentary debut of all time.
A Netflix representative said the documentary debuted with 81.55M hours viewed by over 28 million households in just the first four days, the highest of any documentary in a premiere week.
The series has also topped over 30 countries in the Top 10.
The last three episodes of Harry and Meghan will stream on Netflix on Thursday, 15 December.
The sneak peek of the final episodes was given earlier this week causing furore, after a clip showed Prince Harry accusing Buckingham Palace of “gaslighting”.
In the trailer, Harry claims that Buckingham Palace was “happy to lie” for his brother William.

In the first episodes, the couple does blame their woes on the British press, the reason they left the UK.
Harry said that the media would plant stories to paint them in a bad light, even claiming some press would go as far as paying people to make up false stories about them.
With the pending all-out drama with his brother Harry, William with his wife Kate Middleton posted their Christmas card photo on their social media platforms on Monday.
The couple is photographed by royal family photographer Matt Porteous with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in the photo.
The cute family photo sees the family holding hands in casual attire, as the parents are wearing jeans, Kate in a white blouse top and the children are in navy shorts and t-shirts.
The photo was taken earlier in the year Porteous revealed. He wrote: “I was delighted to spend time photographing The Prince and Princess and their children in Norfolk earlier this year. It is always such an honour to capture these special moments within a family and I’m delighted they have chosen this portrait for their 2022 Christmas card”.
