This is according to an Instagram post by her sister Latoya, who said: “On this day, 28 years ago…our mother, Agnes, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl…they named her Gontse. We’ve been trying to get hold of her for weeks, with no luck. Instead of celebrating my sister’s life, I find myself feeling so sad-I can’t stop crying. So I pulled out these pics of her in healthier times-glowing-and beautiful as ever. We pray for you everyday…we’ve never stopped loving you. This collage is me celebrating you…I love you so much-it hurts. May you find the peace and happiness that you’ve been searching for for so many years.”
If you have no recollection of who Gontse Makhene is, think back to the days of ‘S’kool Girlz. Their father is well- known musician Blondie Makhene. ‘S’kool Girlz was made up of Layota, Gontse, Pauline and their cousin. They were managed by their mother before her sad passing.
The girls and their father have not had it easy since then, but they have always been fighters who come back with a bang.
Earlier this year, there were reports that Gontse was on drugs after their mother passed away. According to the report, Latoya continues to say the following about her sister: “You feel like you can’t sleep at night not knowing where she is and when you finally see her, she’s not okay and not doing well”.
All the best to the Makhene family in finding Gontse.
