Ayanda Ncwane says many people predicted she would fail in the gospel industry after her husband Sfiso Ncwane's death but she proved them wrong.

Businesswoman and music executive Ayanda Ncwane received an award that recognises her work in the industry over the past 10 years.
The Global African Awards awarded Ncwane for Outstanding Contribution to Entertainment and the Music Industry and the former Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD) star said the recognition was humbling.
She wrote on Instagram: “The past decade was incredibly significant for me in business. Mine was to work hard and harder than the other day, not knowing someone is watching all that hard work, excellence, passion and dedication.
“The business side of music is very male-dominated and when I was told I wasn’t going to make [it] because it’s hardcore and brutal for females, especially blacks, that statement fuelled me and years later, our independent record label became [the] best-selling company for four consecutive years.
“All the hard work I was doing was a driving force of our company, producing outstanding results and breaking records that ’til this day have not been broken. That evidence changed how I was perceived from just as ‘Sfiso’s wife’ to ‘Madam Ayanda’ who deserves the respect because she had earned it!
“AGAIN: MUSIC IS THE BUSINESS [and] I’m its BOSS!”

Ncwane is the CEO of Ncwane Communications, which represents multiple gospel artists. She’s also the president of Africa Gospel Awards.
Her appearance on RHOD expanded her popularity and appeal to a different type of audience. However, fans won’t see her for the second season because she didn’t want to be reduced to just a “housewife” on the show.
Ncwane has continued the legacy of her late husband Sfiso Ncwane and has built a gospel empire since his death in December 2016.
