Former Black Motion member Morda accused of theft

Following his new solo venture, former Black Motion member, Bongani “Morda” Mahosana, has found himself in a sticky position as theft allegations have been levelled against him.

According to the tabloid Sunday World, the owner of Black Motion’s record label, Spirit Motion, Moses Nkia Mokgoko, opened a case of housebreaking and theft against Morda at the Olievenhoutbosch police station, north of Johannesburg, on 15 December.

Forced entry to the house

He alleged Morda broke into their Centurion house, which is used as an office and studio, on Thursday, and took various items including studio monitors, a television set, computer hard drives and a mixing desk.

Sunday World reported that Mokgoko discovered the forced entry to the house when he arrived and realised the door to the bedroom of Black Motion’s new member, Kabelo “Problem Child” Koma, was broken and the room trashed.

Morda’s legal representative, Neo Mashele, told the tabloid it didn’t make sense to allege his client broke into his own house.

Not Morda’s first incident

A source close to the musician told the publication Morda vacated the property, bought by him, fellow member Thabo “Smol” Mabogwane and Mokgoko, and went to live with his girlfriend and the mother of his child, DJ Zinhle.

The informant cited this wasn’t Morda’s first ordeal, as the source said the Rainbow composer once trashed the house and allegedly deleted songs recorded by Smol and Problem Child.

“This is not the first time he did this. A few weeks ago, he allegedly went to the house and trashed it. He then went into the studio and allegedly deleted some of the songs Smol and Problem Childten had recorded. Thereafter he allegedly took Thabo’s passport and left,” the informant told the tabloid.

“After some discussions with him, they decided to let it slide and not press charges. They instead changed the door locks,” they added.

The source further said Morda broke down the doors because he wanted to gain access to the house to take the studio equipment.

“When he allegedly did this, they were out, performing at a gig,” and this was supported by a police statement seen by the publication.

Attempts by The Citizen to reach Morda were unsuccessful at the time of writing.
