Florence fumes as film’s pushed back for second time

South African actress Florence Masebe has voiced her frustration and disappointment with the fact that the release date of a short film she stars in and produced was recently pushed back for a second time.

Entitled ‘Elelwani’, the film is based on the first ever Tshivenda novel written by Titus Maumela in the 50s and is, according to the Daily Sun, also the first ever Tshivenda shor film.

When postponed for the first time, the movie’s release date was set for 4 October, but this date has now been rescheduled for 31 January 2014, information Masebe says she stumbled on via social media.

Taking to Twitter, the outraged actress wrote: “I am truly and properly devastated. Had to find out through a tweet that the film’s release has been moved again.”

Masebe has been in local television shows including ‘Scandal!’, ‘Muvhango’, and ‘7de Laan’. She also walked away with the Best Actress In A Leading Role award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) in April, precisely for her title role of Elelwani in the film.
