This is probably not the reaction the world’s second-richest man Jeff Bezos was expecting when his girlfriend met actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
Despite having an estimated net worth of $191.6 billion, Bezo’s girlfriend, Lauren Sánchez, was seen with DiCaprio at a Los Angeles County Museum of Art gala.
And her reaction to meeting the Oscar-winning actor is something we don’t hold against her.
Dressed to impress, Sánchez was wearing a glittering silver dress as she was captured swooning over the dapper DiCaprio while Bezos, with an estimated net worth of $191.6 billion (R2.8 trillion), looked on awkwardly.
Social media was abuzz reacting to the video, with many hilarious memes shared as people joked DiCaprio could easily take Bezos’ partner from him.
Bezos’ separation from MacKenzie Bezos was highly publicised, particularly due to the divorce settlement she received.
It was reported that MacKenzie become the fifth-richest person in the world after she received half of Jeff’s estimated $136.2 billion net worth. The former couple was married for over 25 years.
Jeff and MacKenzie lived in the US state of Washington, where state law dictates that divorcing spouses equitably divide assets in “community property”, including all income generated during a marriage.

Sánchez and Bezos’ relationship went public two years ago, however, the couple used to move in the same circles for years before things took a romantic turn.
US media reports that Sánchez became particularly close to Bezos when she and her ex-husband, Patrick Whitesell, separated in 2018. The couple has been publicly dating since early 2019.
Sánchez is a news anchor, entertainment reporter, media personality, and actress. The art gala Sánchez and Bezos attended was to honour the best in film and art.
Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg was an honoree and Kehinde Wiley and Amy Sherard received the artist honorees.
