Popular Mzansi choreographer and South African Idols judge Somizi ‘Somgaga’ Mhlongo felt philosophical again this past Sunday and shared some motivational words in a clip he posted on Instagram.
Mhlongo was on his way from church when he decided to dish out a few wise words. “A beautiful Sunday to everyone,” he began, explaining that he found himself praying about a lot of things at church that Sunday. “More than anything, I was praying that God gives me strength to get rid of fear,” he said.
“Fear is that voice that tells you that you are not good enough. Fear is that voice that tells you that you don’t deserve what you have; it is that voice that tells you that you don’t deserve to go to another level, that its scary, don’t go there; you don’t deserve the best.”
He further pointed out that he prayed for fear to stop immediately, encouraging fans to also pray fear away. “It will help you. Fear can cripple you,” he added.
“I look at my life as a plane taking off against the wind, but it goes forward,” he said, explaining that despite the challenges ahead, he continues to move forward regardless of the storms that might try to shake him.
“It doesn’t mean that you are going to crash. You have to hold on tight. You do everything that you can to make sure that you don’t crash. You make sure that the aim is to land safely at your destination,” He went on.
Somgaga said he wished everyone could pray that fear did not cripple them, and that they kept pushing forward despite life’s challenges.
“Keep your eye on the prize. Fear must fall,” he said.
