Family of shoplifting accused actress Maggie Benedict hit back
The family of Generations actress Maggie Benedict, who stands accused of shoplifting by retail giant Checkers, say that they will help the star fight the charges which they have described as 'ridiculous'.

Benedict was arrested for as allegedly taken a box of Panado from the store’s Cresta branch and she is due to stand trial at the end of January.
Addressing the media her brother Abel rounded on Checkers saying, “Why would you spend R100 buying other things in the shop and then steal something for R17 It doesn’t make sense.”
“Unfortunately for Checkers common sense is not that common for them and they must pay peanuts because they hire monkeys.”
The star’s angry brother went on to label the charges as “ridiculous” and said that the family would do everything in their power to clear the actress’ name.
