Enhle Mlotshwa’s domestic help drags her to the CCMA demanding R100k

Mpho Koetsi describes her former employer as a 'paranoid, evil and heartless boss' who is hard to work for.

Hot on the heels of confirming that she is indeed in the process of divorcing her husband Nkosinathi “Black Coffee” Maphumulo, actress Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa will have to gear up for yet another battle.

On December 9 2019, Mlotshwa will face off against her domestic helper Mpho Koetsi, 40, at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA). Koetsi has in an interview with City Press described her as an “evil and heartless boss” who is hard to work for. She also went on to call her former employer paranoid before levelling a number of accusations against her.

This comes after Koetsi claims she was fired a week ago for gossiping about Mlotshwa. Koetsi has reportedly been in Mlotshwa and Maphumulo’s employ since January 2018.

This after a report leaked in the Sunday World newspaper claiming that the pair were in the midst of an ugly divorce as detailed in court documents filed by Mlotshwa in an effort to get a restraining order against Maphumulo’s mother.

Koetsi alleges that Mlotshwa fired her after accusing her of gossiping about her to Black Coffee and his mother. Koetsi, however, said her only sin was being on speaking terms with Mlotshwa’s mother-in-law and her son, who would often call her, instead of Mlotshwa, to check on his children while he was working overseas.

The helper is now demanding R100,000 for unfair dismissal and insists that she was not doing this to embarrass Mlotshwa.

“I don’t have any beef with her. I respected her and worked very hard to the best of my abilities. I’m heartbroken because of the unfair dismissal,” she said.

Speaking to City Press, the CCMA’s head of external communication Dumisani Mavundla said the commission could not comment on the matter but confirmed that there was a case scheduled to be heard on December 9.

Mlotshwa has refused to respond to any requests for comment on any stories related to her divorce and dispute with Koetsi.
