EFF supporters display ‘Justice for Senzo Meyiwa’ banner during Kelly Khumalo’s performance
The songstress has been trending since, with most defending her against the harassment.

The Economic Freedom Fighters may have made a mistake including singer Kelly Khumalo in the line-up as some of their supports did not support the move. Khumalo performed at the party’s election rally in KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday and left the stage prematurely after some supporters displayed a banner written “Justice for Senzo Meyiwa”.
In videos shared by TimesLive, the banner can be seen as she performs, though some of the supporters sing along to her songs.
The singer seemed distracted towards the end of her performance and walked offstage while the music continued playing.
“Thank you very much,” she said.

Social media users have defended her against bullies, saying she made the right call by ignoring them and walking away.
@innomatijane wrote: “Kelly Khumalo doesn’t deserve this abuse at all. Sis did an interview explaining that she gave the police everything she knows about Senzo’s death. Stop abusing that woman. She would have been locked up already if she was guilty of his death. Y’all are wrong, so heartbreaking,” while Yoni Montana said: “The constant humiliation and harassment that Kelly Khumalo faces is heartbreaking and absolutely vile. It’s as if people have made a unanimous decision to try and break her.”
However, those who were at the event said the banner was there from the beginning of the event, and not only during Khumalo’s performance.
In a recent interview with eNCA, Khumalo said she did not know what people wanted from her because she did everything in her power to help with the Meyiwa investigation.
She said the wait for something to come out of the case was “tormenting”.
“I don’t know those people who broke into the house, otherwise I would have gone to their house and say this is the person who did it, but I’ve given all the information that’s necessary for police to find the perpetrators.”
Khumalo seemed to not understand why the investigation was taking so long when there were fingerprints of the perpetrators and all witnesses cooperated with the police.
“There were fingerprints in the house, there was a hat that was found in the house that obviously had DNA of whoever that was. All the witnesses have cooperated, I don’t know what the public wants from me. I’ve given my testimony to the people that deserve to know, which is the law, anything beyond that is out of my hands.
“I’m very angry and for me, I feel like the law is failing us. I know they’ve done everything in their power but I feel like if you have fingerprints it should be easy to find someone unless they’re not from the country.”
