Blame It on Fame followed the Masino twins as they went about the daily celebrity business, with the first season broadcast on e.tv during the end of 2011 and the second during the latter half of 2012.
There was a remarkable difference between the two season, though, after initial production company Rapid Blue, which specialises in reality shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and SA’s Got Talent, was swapped for Black Brain Pictures that produced sitcoms including City Ses’la and Ses’Top La.
TVSA quotes the Manager of Local Productions at e.tv, Keshni Rajoo, who explained of the decision to cancel the show: “e.tv is constantly reviewing its content strategy to reflect its audience needs and requests. The celebrity reality format has proved to be very popular on the channel and our audience wanted to see more celebs. In line with this, the channel decided to take on other celebrity reality shows to showcase different celebrities.”
Hlelo and Ntando presented Channel O show Young, Gifted and African and also co-hosted weekly YFM show Double Up.
