‘DiepCity’ actress Lebohang Mpyana has died at 34

Popular TV actress Lebohang Mpyana died after a short illness.
Her family confirmed her death in a statement released on her Facebook page.
“It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our daughter, Lebogang Mpyana. Lebo died after a short illness. We ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers in this time of bereavement.”
The 34-year-old actress was popularly known for her role as Khelina on DiepCity.
Mzansi Magic also released a statement, sending condolences to Lebohang’s family and friends.
The channel said her contribution and dedication to the entertainment industry will forever be treasured, adding: “We are saddened by the untimely passing of the talented actress and comedian who still had so much to offer to the wider South African Arts industry. Lebo was popularly known for her role as Khelina on #DiepCityMzansi, where she gave a stellar performance. The young actress was also featured on Idols Season 15. “

Tributes pour in for Lebohang Mpyana
Fans have since taken to their social media timelines to pay tribute to the actress. Many remembered her for her role in the Mzansi Magic’s show
“She killed her character as Khelina on DiepCity. The industry has lost another great talent. What a sad day in SA. Rest in peace, Lebohang Mpyana. Condolences to her family and friends,” a fan wrote on X.
In an interview with Limpopo Guide a few days ago, Lebohang opened up about how she got a role on DiepCity, crediting her social media comedy videos.
“My online comedy videos went viral and landed me a role on DiepCity. When this opportunity found me, I told myself that I would excel and do my best, it even landed me on stage scooping awards. I remain grateful for the support and praises from the streets, my work speaks for itself.”
