Costa Titch’s mother seeks answers, says she’s worried someone might get away with murder

Costantinos Tsobanoglou, better known by his stage name Costa Titch, died in March this year after he collapsed on stage at the Ultra South Africa concert.

The mother of the late music star Costa Titch has pleaded for help on his son’s Instagram page as she seeks answers about the cause of his death.

She said she is worried that if her son was indeed poisoned, the person that did it might get away with murder because the National Health Laboratory Services can take months or even years to finalise the toxicology tests.

“This means I am not the only mother in South Africa that has to wait for answers. It also means if anyone did poison my son, they could get away with murder. I’m pleading for help to get answers as even the police cannot do anything without these medical results,“ she added.

Costa Titch’s untimely passing

The police told AFP that the 28-year-old collapsed while he was performing on Saturday evening, 11 March, at the Ultra South Africa concert in Nasrec, Johannesburg. They also revealed that an investigation was opened, and a post-mortem would reveal the cause of death.

Costa was popularly known for his hit song titled Big Flexa. On the song, he featured C’Buda M, Banaba Des, Man T, Sdida and Alfa Kat.

His death came just a month after the passing of another South African music giant AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes.

Family’s statement

The late musician’s family confirmed his passing in a statement shared on social media at the time. They said they were grateful for the love and support that people showed their son.

“Death has tragically knocked at our door. Robbing us of our beloved son, brother, and grandson Constantinos Tsobanoglou (28), who South Africa had come to love and idolize under his stage name ‘Costa Titch’. It is with deep pain that we find ourselves having to acknowledge his passing at this time.

“We are thankful for the emergency responders and all those present in his last hours on this earth. As a family, we are faced with a difficult time as we try to make sense of what has befallen us and ask that we be afforded the time and space to gather ourselves.”
