Radio and TV host Anele Mdoda is enjoying her time as she tours the world with her son Alakhe during her expedition to “find new ideas”.
It was announced two weeks ago by Anele on her 947 breakfast show that she was going away for about two and half months, as she will be participating in a series of dynamic “global master classes”.
She described her adventurous absence as a “two-month fact-finding stint and mission”, exploring new and emerging broadcasting and entertainment trends including “interrogating global best practices that will invigorate the show on her return.,” the station said.
Since then Anele and her son Alakhe have toured New York, and met Dwayne Johnson – the Madame Tussauds version, including visiting close friend Trevor Noah on the set of his show The Daily Show.
Alakhe also met other famous faces such as “African giant” Burna Boy and Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo.
Noah jokingly compared his picture with Alakhe and Burna Boy as “Two and a half African men.”
The way Anele has documented their adventures in New York it’s easy to tell her family is having the time of their life, particularly Alakhe who is a big sports fan, as he is seen playing soccer on sports field in the Big Apple and wearing his favourite team jersey’s which include Manchester United and Paris Saint-German (PSG).
Sharing a video of Noah and Ricciardo talking to Alakhe, the six-year-old surprised both adults with his extensive knowledge of F1 at such a young age.
