Connie remembers Shona Ferguson on their 20-year anniversary

Tributes poured in for the couple as friends and followers took to their respective Instagram pages to share pictures of the couple.


Tuesday, 30 November 2021, marked Connie and the late Shona Ferguson’s 20th wedding anniversary.

Shona passed on in July this year.

Taking to social media, the actress shared a picture of the two on their wedding day.

“This day 20 years ago. four months without you, Sho. Today I’m not okay,” said Ferguson in her caption.

Tributes poured in for the couple as friends and followers took to their respective Instagram pages to share pictures of the couple, sending heartfelt messages to Connie to comfort her on the difficult day.

Shona’s passed away due to Covid-19 complications, and not a heart complication brought on by heart surgery as was initially reported the at the time.

“Mr Ferguson’s untimely passing was due to Covid-19 related complications, and not a heart operation as reported in the media,” said the statement in July.

Shona’s brilliance still lives on even after his passing, and the late actor and producer recently bagged two international awards.

Some time in October, Connie took to social media to announce that her late husband had won the Hollywood and African Prestigious award for his role in Netflix’s Kings of Jo’Burg for Best Lead in a TV Series.

Just this week, the late producer received a GQ Man of the Year Award for the Editor’s Special Tribute, which was accepted by Connie.
