It has been a tough few months for the Ferguson family and Connie Ferguson says she is appreciative of those close to her for their support.
Marking three months since her husband Shona Ferguson passed, Connie shared a picture with her family and kids, thanking them for helping her during this time.
She said her daughters Ali Ferguson, Lesedi Matsunyane-Ferguson, her grandson Ronewa (whom she also calls her ‘God-given son’) and her sister Atosie Pilane all prayed with her every day.
“Thank you for friends, family, colleagues and strangers alike, who have been angels on earth praying for me and my family, motivating and encouraging me, reassuring me that it is well, that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
“Thank you for the Holy Spirit who continues to minister to us daily. Thank you for your son who took the cross so we may be saved. Thank you that you are God almighty, for your love, your mercy and your grace! In the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we praise you, give you glory and exalt you above all others. Amen,” she wrote.
Connie has posted touching messages marking Shona’s death and has leaned heavily on her faith to help her carry on. She shared a video of herself and Shona during a funny exchange in their private movie theatre.
“I cherish every moment spent with you, most of them funny as hell! Every memory. I’ll never stop missing you. You’ll never be forgotten. Ever! It doesn’t get easier, our faith just gets stronger.”
Earlier this month, Shona posthumously won Best Lead in a TV series award for Kings of Jo’burg at the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards and Connie was beyond happy for this win.
“Boss extraordinaire! With the brightest smile and heartiest laughter! Sorely missed but fondly remembered by all! Congratulations Hubby! We receive this in your honour!” she posted on Instagram.
