Comedy Central cans Gareth Cliff Show
Comedy Central has canned former radio host Gareth Cliff's TV show, the "Gareth Cliff Show", a month and a half after it was launched on the channel.
FILE PICTURE: Gareth Cliff posted this teaser photo on his facebook page, hinting perhaps about a new radio station in his future.
The show, an internet radio program shown on TV, reportedly failed to attract enough viewers wanting to listen and watch Cliff on the DStv pay-TV platform, according to the Channel24 website on Wednesday.
Channel24 reported that the program’s final show would take place on Monday, with 42 episodes having been broadcast.
The show was originally launched in May and originally ran from 7.35am.
At the beginning of June, the show was moved to 6am to boost viewership figures.
Following a media enquiry, Comedy Central said it was a “mutual decision” to end the show’s run on the channel.
Comedy Central said it would still be working with Cliff on other projects.
