Celebrities who failed to launch singing careers

Singing is not for everyone, we all do it in the shower but that does not necessarily mean we can sing. But, we still dream of making it big one day and being superstars. So it’s not really a surprise that some of the most famous people we love to read about also try to sing.  Here is a list of local and international stars who have tried singing, we have the music videos as proof.

Kim Kardashian

Yes Kim, in this video for her song Jam (Turn it up), we’re subjected to very high nasal vocals and a lot of booty shots (surprise). Here is proof that Kim really tried everything to be famous.

Khanyi Mbau

Our very own queen of bling as she was known in those days, tried her hand at singing/rapping. We even saw her get featured in a couple of rap songs. We think she was going through a Nicki Minajesque phase.

 Eddie Murphy

The king of comedy Eddie Murphy tried his hand at singing. We believe it was a good effort and it might have worked for the era. Here he is with Party all the time

Tyra Banks

You can’t accuse Ms Banks of being just a model, she’s a businesswoman, former talk show host and she tried singing too. But it didn’t work out for her, sadly. She’s not the only model who tried, Naomi Campbell released a whole album titled Babywoman, and no, that’s not a joke.

Another local lovely who tried singing is Dineo Ranaka, this feisty lady wowed us with her singles Survive and House Party. Here she is as Didi:

There were songs we enjoyed and songs that we didn’t, these celebrities are certainly not the only ones. Paris Hilton once tried to convince us that the Stars were blind, Russel Crowe had a pop stint, Jennifer Love Hewitt was a pop sensation in Japan and Shaqeal O’neal tried his hand at rapping. It seems the recording studio is one place every celebrity wants to conquer.
