‘Britain’s Got Talent’ finalist Musa Motha gives Zakes Bantwini his flowers, and receives his bouquet in return

The expression that says you should never meet your heroes because they’re likely to disappoint you was definitely not Britain’s Got Talent finalist Musa Motha’s experience when he met his hero Zakes Bantwini.

“It was an honour meeting the legendary Zakes Bantwini, his music played a big role in my dance career,” said Motha in a caption accompanying a photo with Bantwini.

A few months ago Motha made headlines and history on Britain’s Got Talent, achieving the show’s first-ever group golden buzzer. The talented dancer, who hails from Sebokeng, overcame the challenge of being an amputee to make it to the finals.

“I used to practice with his song called Clap Your Hands. The first time I saw him perform on stage at Evaton West Mall a decade ago, he killed it and marked a dance spot in my heart. Bhut’Zakes you are a Legend. I give you your flowers,” averred the 27 year-old.

Zakes Bantwini responds

In response to Motha’s heartfelt post, Grammy award-winning Bantwini gave the dancer his flowers and shared some wise words as the senior citizen.

“Was great meeting you and connecting my lil [sic] brother. Continue doing great work and showing the world that you can do anything you want in this life, nothing should stop you from making your dreams come true,” said Bantwini.

Musa Motha the actor

The South African dancer is showing that there’s more to him than meets the eye. Motha features in the new movie, The GentleMan, directed by action filmmaker based in London and Vietnam, Tien Hoang. There isn’t much information on what character Motha portrays, but the movie is set to be released on YouTube on Wednesday.

In a post shared by Motha last week while in Hollywood, the entertainer expressed his ambition of one day winning an Oscar award.

“I will get this star and a real Oscar one day because I believe that this is what the future has for me… (this is not a real one, but it will be one day). Live in your dreams, manifest things, see your future, hold on to that beautiful image and see things come effortlessly.”
