In March this year, Bonko and Lesego celebrated 10 years together and their second wedding anniversary.
Bonko penned a heartwarming message on Instagram expressing his love for his wife. He thanked her for choosing and loving him.
“Ten years ago, on this day, you changed my life when our eyes locked for the first time. You turned me into the person I always dreamt of being. Two years ago, on this day, I said I do to you before God. And now I rest in the Grace of what God has created. You are my rock, my home, my refuge, my best friend, and my soulmate.
“A decade of infatuation. 2 years of Godly union. May the rest of my days with you be as beautiful as your smile. May the rest of our days be filled with laughter and love. Learning and healing… If you cannot see me, don’t look for me out there, I will be waiting for you in the corner of your heart,” he wrote.
The couple previously opened up to Sowetan Live about the first time they laid eyes on each other. Lesego said they met in 2013, at the Market Theatre Laboratory, and were both 22 years old at the time.
“I thought Bonko was the hottest guy on earth. I was actually blown away, basically gasping for air when he walked into the classroom,” she added.
Bonko said he first saw Lesego at the Bus Factory (art gallery) in Newtown, Johannesburg.
“I loved how kind and sweet she was. I also liked how very centered and in tune with who she was, I mean, she wasn’t afraid of chilling by herself, which was a bonus for me,” he told the publication.
