Bonang Matheba still has a big influence on South Africa’s entertainment industry and now she has partnered with Miss South Africa for the 2021 edition.
While Bonang won’t be hosting the pageant, her successful BNG Brut MCC is the official celebration partner for the event.
The pageant organisation made the announcement on Wednesday and Bonang’s fans are relishing in her continuous success.
Bonang also teased on Thursday that another big announcement is planned, adding that she has been “quiet” in recent months.
There are suggestions that the announcement will be about BNG, possibly a new flavour or more of an affordable range.
Miss SA and Bonang have worked together in the past, with Bonang hosting Miss SA 2019 when Zozibini Tunzi was crowned the winner.
Two years later, Bonang’s role in many partnerships has evolved to include ownership, a growing trend with many other celebrities.
Miss SA 2021 is going to be star-studded, with hosts such Anele Mdoda and Nico Panagio and a strong all-women selection panel which includes University of Cape Town vice-chancellor Professor Mamokgethi Phakeng, Dineo Ranaka, Basetsana Kumalo, Tamryn Green and more.
The new Miss South Africa will be crowned on October 16 on Mzansi Magic channel 161 and M-Net (channel 101) at 5pm.
Meanwhile, Bonang recently thanked Twitter for helping to change her Twitter handle from @bonang_m to just @Bonang earlier this week, following in the footsteps of other mononymous celebrities.
