A bad joke gone wrong about Nkosinathi ‘Black Coffee’ Maphumulo’s death has reached his ears and he is not pleased. The joke started a few months ago on Facebook, with people posting that black coffee was dead as they had bought milk.
It went on for some time, but it seems now some people missed the bad joke and ran with the story that the DJ was really dead.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday night, Black Coffee wrote: “Dear Black Facebook……Don’t RIP me yet…….I’M ALIVE.”
These were some of the comments from his fans:
“A friend asked me about this and I was shocked.”
“The stupidity the exists ko Facebook… I’m sure #RIPBlackCoffee was because someone poured milk into their coffee.”
“For true fans like me, you’ll never RIP even when you’re gone. You’re immortal and your music will continue to make change in our lives.”
“Humour in this country of Baba Duduzane has reached irrational climax.”
“Long live the king of house music.”
“Mark Zuckerberg looking at his village like. ‘What the hell? You killing Coffee now? I better move to the suburbs of Twitter’.”
“Those that use both Facebook and Twitter must be ambassadors for true and timely transfer of info though. Facebook is a mess… I gave up.”
“Haters just relax @RealBlackCoffee is still alive and doing well. #GodsFavourite.”
This was not Black Coffee’s first death as a fake news website last year once published a report claiming the DJ had been found dead in a hotel room in Spain. A fan then “confirmed” the news on Facebook.
We were never told how our beloved DJ left us last year, all we knew was that he was found unconscious and rushed to hospital.
