Big Nuz leaving DJ Tira’s Afrotainment?

Tira has reportedly been paying the group "peanuts".

Kwaito group, Big Nuz, is reportedly leaving DJ Tira’s record label Afrotainment. The two-member group which consists of Mandla Maphumulo and Mzi Tshomela has won a number of awards, including the South African Music Award for Best Kwaito Album.

They were recently nominated in the Best Kwaito Album category at the 15th Metro FM Music Awards. The group, which was previously a three-member group, before losing R-Mashesha in August last year, has had a fight with Afrotainment boss Tira, Isolezwe reported.

There is a screen grab of an alleged message sent by DJ Gwe to Tira. In the text, he says Tira used Big Nuz for his own benefit, purchasing houses and registering them under his stable Afro Entertainment.

He further says Tira had not been paying Big Nuz well, and now “Mashesha has nothing to show for it”. Gwe slams the stable, saying it Tira refuses to pay the group well when it made Afro Entertainment famous.

From the message, it seems the main problem is Tira not paying the group well.

However, this is what DJ Tira tweeted on Tuesday:

And when a Twitter user said there was trouble between DJ Tira and Big Nuz, the DJ responded with “U wish”.

Mampintsha also took to his Facebook to address the rumours, saying they are untrue. He wrote:
