Bafana star’s brother bailed following family murder

Mandlakayise Sangweni, the brother of Bafana Bafana defender Siyabonga, has been released on a bail of R4000 by the Ngwelezane Magistrates' Court in KZN.


Mandlakayise, who plays goalkeeper for PSL outfit AmaZulu was released on bail on condition that he relocate to Johannesburg and not return to the area where he allegedly shot his uncle Vusumuzi.

The incident in question took place shortly after Christmas and was allegedly sparked by a row about witchcraft.

The Sangweni family has a high-profile in South African football circles with a third brother, Thamsanqa, on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns.

The case has been postponed until 18 February.
