Amapiano DJ and producer Mdu aka TRP is about to become an instant millionaire, all thanks to DJ Maphorisa.
Earlier this week, DJ Maphorisa shared on X, formerly Twitter, he and Kabza De Small would give Mdu a whopping R100 000 each for his contribution to Amapiano.
The Major League DJs also pledged to give Mdu $50 000, which is about R959 097,50.
Mdu is reputedly the god of log drums, one of the essential elements in the production of Amapiano hit songs.
Not only that but also, “this man is solely responsible for the biggest music export this country has ever given the world”, said DJ Donkam on Instagram.
The genre broke into the mainstream in 2019 and has since birthed stars such as De Mthuda, MFR Souls, Kabza De Small, Josiah De Disciples, Kamo Mphela, Mr. JazziQ, Vigro Deep, and Musa Keys, just to mention a few.
According to DJ Maphorisa, Mdu has helped many Amapiano artists with his log drum skills.
“Thank You “Mdu AKA Trp” for changing our lives with Dat LOG DRUM forever be grateful mfanaka.
“Ke wisha nkare every Amapiano artist/Dj re mo sendele Di 10k for appreciation! Nna le Kabza re tla senda 100k each. Amapiano gang let’s please,” Maphorisa wrote on X.
