‘Always sad to leave’ – Rachel Kolisi and her kids return to France

Here are some exciting things that Rachel got up to while in SA.

The Rugby World Cup fever has cooled down, and Rachel Kolisi and her family are returning to their new home in France.

The Kolisi family officially moved to France in August this year.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Rachel said they were already on their way back to their new home.

She said they initially missed their flight because she got the days wrong. She wrote: “I woke up to a message this morning “you were supposed to be on a flight last night.” We had a 12 am flight, and I thought it was today.

“Anyway, we’re on our way to Dubai and then to Paris. It meant we were on the same flight as my sister and brother-in-law, and we scored an open seat in our row!”

Trophy tour

The Springboks captain’s wife joined the 2023 Rugby World Cup champions as they embarked on a trophy tour, which kicked off in Pretoria and ended in East London.

During one of the tours, Rachel was accidentally hit by a rugby ball after her husband missed the catch.

Her brother’s wedding

Last month, Rachel said she would be flying back to SA to attend a family wedding, which happened to be her brother’s wedding, Joel Smith.

Joel recently tied the knot with South Africa’s golden swimmer, Tatjana Schoenmaker.

In her Instagram stories earlier this week, Rachel wrote: “My brother got married to the most spectacular woman this weekend and I couldn’t be more grateful for this love.”

Power2You project re-launch

This week, Rachel celebrated the relaunch of the Kolisi Foundation’s project, Power2You.

The foundation teamed up with the Saartjie Baartman Centre to give women the tools they need to take a stand against gender-based violence.

“So proud and excited to share this amazing project between the Kolisi Foundation and Saarti Baartman Centre,” Rachel wrote on Instagram.
