Around 68 000 screaming fans filled up the stadium on Saturday, and despite being a few thousands short of being sold out, there is no denying that Cassper made history.
The show, which reportedly cost the Destiny rapper R15 million, outsold concerts at the stadium with headlining global superstars like Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Linkin Park – who all sold fewer than 63 000 tickets.
Cassper did the impossible, and his fans can’t stop celebrating. But the rapper’s loyal fans are not the only one singing his praises.
SA’s biggest celebrities have taken to social media to congratulate Cassper on his massive achievement – including his nemesis, AKA.
AKA caused an uproar on social media in the weeks leading up to the show when he asked if he could perform at the concert. But his offer to “help” was turned down, when Cassper told him to “just buy a ticket” if he wanted to support his dream.
Social media also accused AKA of trying to steal his former friend’s shine. But it seems the Don’t Forget to Pray rapper is willing to eat some humble pie.
He took to Twitter on Sunday to tweet a picture from Cassper’s show. “Powerful,” he posted.
Celebs such as Somizi Mhlongo were lucky enough to witness the concert live. The Idols SA judge shared pictures from backstage.
“He did it again. If I ever allow fear to stand in between myself and my dreams i very stupid. Not after what @casspernyovest did last night. 68000 thousand ppl supported yo dream. U were fearless. The devil is rolling on the floor coz u proved who GOD is. I love u and I will support till till (sic),” he wrote.
TV presenter Hulisani Ravele also tweeted her excitement.
“To have witnessed this leaves me with chills. A lot can be & should be said about this feat that @casspernyovest & his team achieved, my perspective: #FillUpFNBStadium is a testament of what God can do when His power meets a willing heart, a determined spirit, & limitless faith.”
Black Coffee, one of Cassper’s biggest supporters, posted: “God is a Major Key.”
“What @CassperNyovest managed to do last night was nothing short of remarkable. I’m trying to work out how people think they possibly could throw any hate at this achievement???Let’s just give credit where it’s due. Well Done Refiloe!” Maps Maponyane tweeted.
