7de Laan’s Lerato taking a short break

Mari plays the part of rebellious Lerato on the popular soap opera, but says she’s always had a deep yearning for travel. “I’ve always wanted to travel and, after a long conversation with friends and family, it sounded like a great plan,” she told Huisgenoot.

She will be heading off on her voyage at the end of October when she boards a cruise ship set for the Caribbean Sea, and does not anticipate any problems with sea sickness.

“I have never been on such a big boat, but I do know that I can read a book in the car without getting nauseous,” said the actress.

On leaving Lerato behind, Mari said: “The two of us have been walking together for three years now, a bit of time apart will do us both good, but I can’t wait to climb back into her shoes.

“I’m only going away for six months, not for forever.”
