Cassper Nyovest took to Twitter this week to voice his frustration about Kanye West stealing kwaito from South African artists.

His outraged tweets read: “I been saying they gone steal our sound before we embrace. It’s happening. The world is doing Kwaito. Kanye produced a Kwaito song 4 Wale.”
“First it was Years and Years with a beat that sounds Exactly like Spikiri ‘s style and now this Wale record Kanye made with Ty Dollar? Yoh”
He then tweeted the link to Years and Years with this message: “It’s too late now… We can’t even claim it anymore… Tell me this is not Kwaito !!!” This seems to be the week for South African artists standing tall against international artists.
AKA also had a social media rant about the fact that local rappers are always called on to support international acts. He was referring to the Project Maboneng hip-hop festival taking place this weekend, where Nyovest,Kid X and various others will be opening for America’s Ace Hood.
