Best Drama Series ‘Intersexions’

Educational sex drama series 'Intersexions' was named Best Television Drama Series at the recent Screen Excellence Awards (SEAs).

The SEA’s are unique in the sense that they also honour the myriad of important individuals working behind the scenes in both the local television and film industry.

Harriet Gayshon, managing director of Intersexions production company Quizzical Pictures, accepted the award.

“Quizzical accept this award on behalf of all partners, it is an honour for Intersexions and others to be recognised for excellence in the industry at the inaugural SEAs,” she said, according to Media Update.

Keeping true to the nature of the SEAs, general manager of television content at the SABC, Pontsho Makhetha, praised everyone involved with the show and also paid tribute to key player Johan Neethling, who passed away recently.

She said: “Jo, commissioning editor for Intersexions was taken from us last month. He has left a huge gap in many lives, not a day goes by without us thinking of him, may his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy live on in education.”

Other local productions honoured by the awards were Of Good Reports, which won Best Feature Film, Best Director of a Documentary Film, Riaan Hendricks for ‘The Devils Lair’, and ‘Miracle Rising’, which won Best Documentary Film.
