Beach club set to open in Fourways

The venue will offer the ultimate summer experience loaded with luxury and indulgence in true Ibiza style.

Johannesburg is known for many things. However, the beach is not one of them. But that’s about to change, thanks to local development entrepreneur Damian Michaels.

In a media statement yesterday, Michaels announced his latest world-class venture, set to open this November in Johannesburg.

No stranger to creating venues that exude a blend of Manhattan chic and Miami heat, Michaels also created Altitude, the urban rooftop oasis in Menlyn that boasts panoramic views of Menlyn, Tshwane and beyond.

Now, surrounded by the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg traffic and intimately tucked away next to the newly renovated Fourways Mall, the Altitude Beach Club is set to be the city’s hottest premium waterfront dining and lifestyle venue this side of the equator.

“The climate in Johannesburg is consistent with the top cities of the world when it comes to warmer conditions. The time is now right to bring the brand to my back yard.

“Traditionally, Cape Town has played host to these kinds of venues but the 10-month outdoor friendly weather patterns were a no-brainer for me,” said Michaels.

Best known for combining rooftop sunsets with chilled champagne and top DJs, alongside a culinary smorgasbord on top of Sun International’s Times Square Casino, Michaels says the franchise format will be flipped on its head with the birth of this Joburg undertaking.

He says this breathtaking water wonderland will be situated in the heart of the north and will offer the ultimate summer experience loaded with luxury and indulgence in true Ibiza style.

“Johannesburg is indeed Africa’s engine room and the next generation expect nothing but the best, which is something our team constantly thrives on delivering.

“Creating an unforgettable experience within our venues requires a balance of great food, flawless service and a dessert of even better music. And so, we bring you Altitude Beach Club,” says Michaels.

Opening this November, the Altitude Beach Club will host just under 1,500 guests.
