Border Collie Rescue recently teamed up with Sony Movies SA, which generously offered to showcase the new film, A Dog’s Way Home, at a special screening for 100 lucky guests at Cedar Square in Fourways on April 10 at 7.30.
The screening will also serve as a fundraiser for this cause.
Guests will be able to buy raffle tickets, win hampers, make contributions and enjoy an exclusive screening of the film.
Since 1997, Border Collie Rescue has been finding adoptive homes for the ever-increasing number of unwanted border collies. The organisation has found homes for approximately 6 500 border collies.
The main objectives of Border Collie Rescue are to educate the public about the breed, find adoptive or foster homes, provide rehabilitation for abused border collies and raise funds.
The funds raised cover operating costs such as sterilisation, advertising, kennelling, transport, telephone and other veterinary expenses.
“With running costs of approximately R60 000 a month and above, we are constantly looking for ways to raise funds,” said Elsie Jammy, chairperson of Border Collie Rescue.
“So we are absolutely delighted that Sony Movies SA and Ster-Kinekor Theatres have come on board to give us this opportunity.”
