Bastille wows crowd at Kirstenbosch
UK chart-topping band, Bastille, landed in South Africa for the very first time and took to the stage for an electric performance on Wednesday at Cape Town's Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
English rock band Bastille performs, 11 January 2014, at Emmarentia Dam in Johannesburg. On Thursday it was announced that the band has been nominated for four Brit Awards in the categories Best Single, Best British Group, Breakthrough Artist and Best Album. Matthew Mole, Beatenberg and Bed On Bricks also performed at the sold-out show. Picture: Michel Bega
Bastille performed at their first sold-out show on South African soil and the band performed recent chart-toppers, ‘Things We Lost In The Fire,’ ‘Pompeii’, ‘Laura Palmer’ and ‘Overjoyed’.
Bed On Bricks, who returned after a three-year hiatus, were the supporting act who performed alongside Bastille in Cape Town. They did not disappoint the crowd with their eagerly anticipated comeback.
As they end their national tour, the band will perform to a third sold-out audience of 15 000 at Emmarentia Dam on Saturday, 11 January where local favourites Matthew Mole and Beatenberg will play ahead of the British musicians.
